I am delighted to announce that the 2022 EPS Lise Meitner prize has been awarded to Prof Phil Walker from the University of Surrey for his seminal contributions to the understanding of long-lived nuclear excited “isomeric” states and the factors that determine their half-lives, that range from nanoseconds to years. More details about the award can be seen on the EPS website here and on the University of Surrey website here.
Congratulations Phil, very well deserved.
